Moderation here is the key. In a perfect world I would just tell you not to eat candy and sodas and this would ensure you the best possible results. The truth about sweets is that in moderation they will have no effect on your progress. A soda or candy bar every couple of days will make virtually no difference. However, if you are trying to lose weight, or if you find yourself drinking sodas and eating candy every day you might want to make some changes. But your priority should be in well-rounded nutrition first. If you are not getting protein, carbs, and the vitamins you need then whether or not you eat sweets is hardly an issue.
